Fleda moved to the door and opened it. "I'm not prepared to say. You must have patience and see." Fleda gave her a faint smile. "He'll come if he can."!

We couldn't be present—it was impossible; but as it had this address on it I said to myself that I might find you here." He looked about him and took up his hat: it was as if, in spite of frustration, he had got the essence of what he wanted and could afford to agree with her to the extent of keeping up the forms. Her type was misleading only to the superficial, and no one in the world was less superficial than Fleda.
